Ken Barnes, after a long break from theatre, designed the sets for the Everyman Rep’s productions Gaslight and Occupant. He has served on the faculties of UNC-G, Washington Lee, and Florida State. He is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 350 and has over 50 design credits including touring, repertory, Off-Broadway, CBS, and London’s West End. In 1973, he travelled to Eastern Europe to work with some of the region’s leading Sceneographers. His acting credits include Jerry in Zoo Story, Creon in Antigone, Cervantes/Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha and the title role in King Lear. In addition to his theatre career, along with his wife Ellen, he has owned and sailed the Schooner Stephen Taber and re-established the Captain Lindsey House as an historic inn in Rockland. He holds a Merchant Marine License and is proud to be a master mariner. He is a USAF veteran, has four children, seven grandchildren, and is married to his best friend, Ellen.
